SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, September 2, 2016 – Defending champions Dominican Republic had four players in double digits to beat Barbados 3-0 in the Pool B action of NORCECA U-18 Championship.

Dominican Republic who won the title two years ago in Costa Rica defeated the monarchs of CAZOVA (25-10, 25-13, 25-13).

Alexadre Ceccato, Dominican Republic’s coach said: “First match, the girls were nervous committing some errors in the service. Barbados is a team with potential, showed good moments in the match. We need to be more consistent in the service”.

“It was a difficult game, we had problems mainly on the reception. My team didn’t play bad defense, but there were moments of inconsistency that affected us,” said Shenner Pooler, coach of Barbados.

Liliani Feliz led the Dominican offense with 15 points. Natalia Martinez added 14, while Jasmine Guillen and Stephani González contributed 10 points each. For Barbados, Ashley Jordan finished four points.
